Ancient Shark Teeth

After eating pink pancakes on the wrong day. We headed off to Cofrin Nature Park here in Gainesville. Reese and I went there the day before for a play group. My friend told us that you can find ancient shark teeth in the small stream. So of coarse we had to go the next day to see what we could find.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first. I just figured it was a nice day and Reese loves playing in mud and sand. Dylan looked for about one minute and he found one. Then we started finding more and more. It was all very exciting. Reese was ever so helpful with his handy dump truck. We would fill it up with the tailing's and he would dump them down stream.

When we got home Dylan had to show all of the little neighbor kids. So we had to take the neighbor kids and went back the following day. Dylan found the big sharks tooth on the top right. He was really excited. He has been looking them up and telling me what kind of shark each tooth came from. It looks like this might be a new Daniels family hobby.

Valentines Day?

We had pink pancakes and pink milk for breakfast. After we ate I realized it was only the 13th of February. Pregnancy has a lot of side effects. I occasionally have no idea what day it is.

It's a good thing Dylan and Reese don't mind celebrating holidays more that once.

Paynes Prairie Preserve

We love to visit Paynes Prairie La Chua Trail is our favorite. They just put in a new boardwalk we wanted to check out.

It was a little cold when we started. Somewhere between the beanies and jackets coming off and the way home Dylan and Reese got sunburned. I just don’t think to put sunscreen on in February.

This time we saw alligators, bison, a snake and over a thousand sand hill cranes. I guess the cranes migrate from Wisconsin in the winter.

Reese had a great time running with Zeke and Cami.

For the Love of Monster Trucks

My son LOVES monster trucks. He has a road for regular cars but it just didn't seem to cut the mustard. So I plopped my pregnant body on the floor and made a monster truck Road. I did it secretly hoping it would buy me lots of sitting on the couch doing nothing time. No such luck. I guess it's just not that fun to play monster truck jam by yourself.

we love mail

Christmas came three times for Reese this year. The first was in Kansas with Grandma and Grandpa Daniels. Then Christmas morning at Grandma and Grandpa Dave's house. The third was a few weeks ago when all of the new toys that didn't fit on the plane came in the mail. Thanks Grandma! These gifts just keep on giving. I think that should be our new tradition. Reese seemed even more excited to see them the second time.

Pony Express Trail

While we were in Utah my parents took us on the Pony Express Trail from just south of Salt Lake to Wendover. We had a really fun day. Reese liked making and finding tracks in the snow.
We got to see historical markers, ghost towns, hot springs, military targets for aircraft, mines, caves and sheep herders.
The trail ended in Wendover where we got to see the Historic Wendover Airfield and the hanger for the "Enola Gay"
It was a beautiful ride. We really enjoyed the landscape it was the complete opposite of Florida. I love that I have had the opportunity to enjoy both.

Snow

We spent the second part of our Christmas vacation in Utah with my family. Reese and Dylan had a super time playing in the snow.
Reese especially liked riding the sled. First they tried hooking it up to the dog. That didn't work out so well. Then Dylan pulled him around for a while. That made me laugh so hard I could barley hold the camera.

In the end my Dad got the four wheeler out to show them how it's done.

Christmas in Kansas

We spent the first part of our Christmas vacation in Kansas. We had a great time at Tymon and Angie's. Reese had a super fun time with his cousins Tommy and Johnny.
It was so nice to have all the family together except for uncle Devin on a mission. We miss you uncle Devin!
Tymon, Dylan and Troy entertained themselves by playing video games non stop. They even got Tom and Diane to participate.

My favorite part of the trip was watching Tommy and Reese interact. They are so funny together.
