Cedar Key

On Saturday we went to Cedar Key.

Cedar Key is the closest beach from our house it's only about 50 miles from Gainesville, it takes just a little over an hour to get there. I'm not sure it counts as a real beach. For the most part it's just a cute little fishing town with a super cool playground some sand and water.

Reese loved it!

He had so much fun playing with Jane and Savannah.

He loves jumping the waves even when they are small.

What could be better than dump trucks on the beach?

I love spring. I love living in Florida. I love having friends that will pack a lunch and drive and hour or two to play in the sun. Now I have to clean my house and fold laundry.

Alachua County Fire Station

Play Group at the fire station.

Reese thought bringing his own little fire truck would be fun. He had no idea just how much fun until he found the puddles.

I hope this is the only time we will get to see the inside of an ambulance.

And they thought the sirens were loud when we hear them from inside our car.

Palm Point Park

This is Palm Point Park. Dylan spent most of his spring break working hard on papers and other time consuming law school stuff. On Wednesday I made him take a break and we went exploring.
Reese loves riding his bike on the trails.

This is Newman's Lake.

We saw five or six alligators

So I think we are pretty adventurous people, aware of our surroundings for the most part. Not so! We have lived in Gainesville for almost three years now. I had no idea there was a gigantic lake about 15 min from our house.

Dylan found a Parks and Facilities map of Gainesville. It shows all the nature trails and parks. I thought we had been to most of them here in town. Nope, again I was very mistaken. We have only visited 9 of the 22 places on this map. So many places to see so little time. I hope we can get to them all before we move.

Beach Trip

This was our first beach trip so far this year. I think I was almost as excited as Reese. It was so fun to watch all the kiddos run as fast as they could to the ocean.

Reese flew a kite for the first time all by himself. Thanks Hunter for sharing.

The weather was perfect.

I'm starting to take pictures of our treasures. That way we don't have to take them home.

All Reese could ever need in this life sun, sand, sea, and his Savannah.

We had such a great day. I'm ready to go again.

Big Boy Bed

Finally we got Reese a big boy Bed. He and I were both growing out of his little toddler bed. The only problem now is that it's so comfy I keep falling asleep when we cuddle. I can't wait to make new bedding for it.
